You have queried agents and perhaps been turned down, or heard nothing at all. Somewhere along the way a publisher may have offered to publish it for two or three thousand pounds PLUS a share of everything it ever earns. That is the point most first-time authors reach, and it is not a comfortable one. Here is why we are the better solution:
We take nothing from your sales

The costs are published, and fixed
From £1,495. Prices are on the pricing page, and it will not change after we have read your manuscript. That way, you’ll already know if it’s affordable for you even before sending us your submission.
ISBN setup and management
Every printed book requires a unique reference number so that it can be catalogued. This is the International Standard Book Number (ISBN), one for each separate edition and variation of a publication. A single ISBN bought directly from the UK registrary costs an author around £93. Your book needs one for the paperback and another one for the hardback. As publishers, we buy and manage ISBNs in bulk, saving you the hassle and costs of ISBN management.
We are not afraid to turn manuscripts down
Our imprint goes on the spine of your book, which means we cannot publish everything that arrives. Every submission is read and assessed, and some are declined. A publisher that accepts everything is not a true publisher. If we think your manuscript needs more editorial or development work before it is ready, we will say so, and point you toward independent editors we rate.
You can leave, and it costs you nothing to do so
Ninety days’ written notice, at any time. We withdraw your title(s), hand over every print-ready and source file, reconcile and pay anything outstanding, and give you a written record of your ISBNs, and sales history.
Why is our model cheaper than the alternatives?
Because of what we are NOT paying for. There is no royalty share to fund, so our fees do not subsidise a company that expects to make more money later. The work still takes time to get right, but we structure ourselves to minimise overheads and unnecessary cost.
